Qwest Communications International Inc. said Monday that it has decided to keep its long-haul network after failing to get satisfactory bids when it explored auctioning it off.
The Denver-based telecom’s announcement was the first time it publicly acknowledged that it considered selling its long-haul network, which carries large volumes of voice and data between major markets. It’s the business Qwest initially was launched to provide.
