Strategy Analytics sees 5 million U.S. broadband sub additions in 2009 - FierceTelecom

Broadband adoption in the U.S. has been perceived to be slowing at times over the last year or two as the market has matured and economic pressures have increased, but market research firm Strategy Analytics says the U.S. market still can expect to add about 5 million new broadband subscribers this year. That would be growth of around 7 percent, which certainly isn't as impressive as the double-digit growth of the past, Strategy Analytics points out.

The firm has just produced its report, "North America Broadband Forecast: 1H'2009," which also predicts that "broadband household penetration in the U.S. will exceed 80% in the next five years..."
