Newt Gingrich is toning down his tweets since he declared to his more than 404,000 followers on Twitter that Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor was a "racist" -- a contention he later withdrew.
He had no live tweets from the big House/Senate Republican fundraising dinner last night, at which he served as keynote speaker, filling the role that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin originally was to assume. No tweets, no jabs at Palin, who, though she didn't speak and had reportedly let it be known to the party establishment that she was miffed about Gingrich stealing the limelight, still showed up...
